My discovery of the "Green Boxes" was an encounter that eventually required me to return to the site two more times from Bozeman, Montana to capture the light quality that would reveal the spirit of the "Green Boxes." Visually and spiritually the "Green Boxes" inspired me to experience this site in the same way as teepee rings and medicine wheels, which symbolize the cultural remains of our Native American history. These "Green Boxes" are the contemporary vestiges of the modern day man. This place is the solid waste dumping site for residents of Gardiner, Montana, the north central entrance to Yellowstone Park. It sits on the banks of the Yellowstone River.
